Your editorial and your cover photo are contradictory.
You claim to want to present a better image of Iranians to the world however
your cover fits the stereotype of fanatics waving their fists in the air.
Very disappointed.

To answer Mohammed Q: Which side is Salam on? The side of the
readers! You are being given the contentions of all the disputants, to
judge for yourself who is right, and to learn what their arguments are
in order to support or refute them. Congratulations to the editors for
being even-handed and informative.

Why not put the pictures of the students protesting for democracy on your
cover? Please don't give more exposure to the religious radicals. They
want to scare us, and I think this picture does nothing but terrify us.

I live in northern cal...thanks again...

Dear editor,
In reviewing your publication, and especially with the inclusion of Mrs.
Jo-ana D'Balcazar articles such as "Unless Consistent Policies Are
Applied", you demonstrate a progressive, logical thinking mind of
journalism, at its best.
As I am sure you receive a lot of resistance from your readership over
such presentations, it should be considered success, as closed minds and
blindfolded eyes are being opened, and revealed. Statements of truth and
facts tend to do that, and the foundation for any healthy future.
So long as there is denial of the truth, your journal is an educational
asset. You bring pride to the Iranians, and sense of hope to all of us.
Keep on the good work.

To tell you the truth, I didn't bother reading your article
on belly dancing. But I SURE enjoyed the pictures.

I think your advice columns such as Azita and Sex Sultan, while some may
find it tasteless, actually provide a service to our community because
we tend to put our heads in the sand and not deal with real problems of
modern life, especially when it comes to our kids torn between two cultures.
So I commend you for putting it out there even if it helps only one person!

I know you are based in California, but please you put
your mag on the web, please ensure a little more international appeal.
There are Iranians in Europe too you know!!!
I am not going to take advantage of your restaurant and
theater review based solely in Los Angeles area!!!

First, I would like to compliment you and your editorial staff for publishing
a good and a timely magazine for the second generation, Iranian/American
community in Southern California.
Also I have a question for you. I hear there is a new Iranian-American
female comedian performing around town at different Comedy Clubs by the
name
of Elham Jazab. I heard her interview on the Persian radio a few days
ago.
Who is this young lady, and where did she come from? Can you guys possibly
have an interview with her about her background and her performances in
LA?
Thanks again.
Regards,
Farshad
Editor Responds: We are indeed familiar with the energetic, electrifying
comic talent Elham Jazab and featured her in a recent issue. |
